The Office of Health and Environmental Assessment has prepared the addendum to serve as a source document for EPA use. The addendum updates EPA's July 1985 Health Assessment Document for Tetrachloroethylene (Perchloroethylene, PERC, PCE) by providing a review of the findings of the draft National Toxicology Program (NTP) Technical Report on the Toxicology and Carcinogenesis Studies of Tetrachloroethylene in F344/N rats and B6C3F1 mice (Inhalation studies). The addendum discusses the ways in which the data impact assessment of the weight-of-evidence for the carcinogenicity of PCE, and uses relevant data to develop a revised unit risk estimate for inhalation exposure to PCE.
