摘要

The study responds to the concern of the small businesses' role in the food processing and distribution sectors. There are three major purposes of the study: Document the incidence of small business participation in agricultural related industries, i.e., those industries between the farmer and the retailer; Estimate the extent of small business disappearance and market share changes in these industries, both nationally and regionally; and Assess the specific federal policies that may have significantly affected changes in selected industries.
