Archeological Testing of the Proposed Location of the Handicapped Access Trail at 24-Gun Battery, Kennesaw Mountain, National Battlefield Park

On August 8-9, 1985, an archeological survey was conducted at the Twenty-four Gun Battery at Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park on the proposed route of a handicapped access trail. No artifacts were recovered from the survey, nor did it appear that trail construction would adversely affect standing historic features at this location. Therefore, archeological clearance is granted for construction of the proposed trail to run from the proposed parking area to a point south and west of the southwesternmost gun emplacement.
