摘要

The report describes research to determine the locations within the pavement structure showing the greatest response in terms of stresses and strains to wheel loads. The analysis is limited to produce results compatible with Kentucky thickness design curves having a modulus of elasticity of 480 ksi for asphaltic concrete. The report describes patterns of work, location of maximum strain energy density, influence of various components of strain, stress analysis, and discusses implications for composite pavements.
