Improving MCH/WIC (Maternal and Child Health Program/Special Supplemental Food Program for Women, Infants and Children) Coordination: Final Report and Guide to Good Practices

摘要

The purpose of the project was to evaluate the relationship between the Special Food Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) and the Maternal and Child Health (MCH) program. The project identified issues that are involved in the relationship between the two programs, and made recommendations as to how the issues are best resolved at the Federal, regional, state and local levels. The project produced (1) a guide to good practices showing how coordination can be accomplished within different administrative structures; and (2) a final report describing the study purpose, methods, findings and recommendations. The good practices guide covers service-delivery examples, management examples, and training and education programs.
