Disaster Medical Assistance Team Organization Guide

The National Disaster Medical System has been created to provide medical care for victims of catastrophic mass casualty incidents. The System will consist of a medical response element, an evacuation element and a hospital facilities element. A fundamental portion of the medical response element will be volunteer medical teams which will provide medical clearing or staging services. The technical manual describes the organization and operation of Disaster Medical Assistance Teams and NDMS Clearing-Staging Units.
