The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) was requested to evaluate exposures to painters at the E.I. Dupont Sabine River Works Plant in Orange, Texas. The primary concern was to characterize employee exposures to isocyanates and to recommend the appropriate respiratory protection necessary to control these exposures.
