The report presents the results of an extensive literature survey to collect and assemble information on the current state of the tracer technology with the objective of selecting promising techniques that could serve to positively identify and distinguish the source of a leaking and migrating natural gas from other nearby sources of methane or natural gas and not merely indicate the presence of a gas leak.
