The aim of the chapter of the Engineering Field Manual is to provide information on the planning, design, layout, and construction of Diversions. Although intended primarily for use at the Soil Conservation Service field office level, much of the information will be useful to other engineers and consultants. A diversion is a channel with a supporting ridge on the lower side constructed across the slope.
