摘要

The report evaluates, monitors, and conducts a complete evaluation of the Securities and Exchange Commission's (SEC) Electronic Data Gathering, Analysis and Retrieval (EDGAR) project. The Securities and Exchange Commission protects the investing public by providing for full disclosure of companies' business and financial information. To accomplish its mission, the Commission receives hundreds of thousands of paper filings--disclosure statements and reports--a year. The operational system, as planned, would consist of two separate computer systems--one system for internal Commission processing, and one external system to electronically receive and disseminate filings submitted annually.
