Dissertion Research: Pharmacists of Conscience - Ethical Decision-Making and Consistency of Care.

摘要

The purpose of the report is to examine how pharmacists responsibility laws that dictate whether pharmacists can opt out of providing healthcare on moral grounds influence decision-making in daily practice. Empirically examines how pharmacists identification, negotiation, and resolution of ethical conflict occurs within the multi-institutional environments in which they practice where law, political environment, professional norms, and organizational routines interact with personal beliefs to influence healthcare provision. Combines theoretical perspectives on frontline workers discretion and interprofessional dynamics to understand moral and political dimensions of healthcare provision.
