The report represents the final step in the completion of the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) contract no. 240-83-0092 entitled 'To Assess the Status of Activities to Assure the Continuing Competence of Health Professionals'. The primary purpose of the project, completed in 1984, was to describe the state of the art of public and private activities to assure the continuing competence of health professionals and to discuss the related procedural and technical issues.
