Manufacturer Submission Procedures for Qualification Testing of Long-Term Fire Retardant

The submission procedures booklet is designed specifically for use by a manufacturer in submitting a long-term retardant for evaluation. It outlines in detail the procedural steps to be followed to have a fire retardant evaluated and tested for qualification. The present evaluation program is based on performance requirements prescribed by Forest Service Specification 5100-304a, Long Term Retardant, Forest Fire, Aircraft or Ground Application. The booklet also details the test procedures to be used for laboratory testing, the procedure for operational evaluation, and finally, acceptance or rejection of a product.
