Characterization of Municipal Solid Waste in the United States 1960-2000

The report presents a summary of estimates of historical MSW quantities and composition from 1960-1984, with projections to the year 2000. In addition to characterization of MSW, which is defined as residential, commercial and institutional wastes, the report includes information on other wastes that are land-filled, and a discussion of the factors that influence MSW generation.
