Regional Agricultural Market Research Project

摘要

The Regional Agricultural Market Research Project conducted an extensive survey of bulk food buyers in order to assist farmers in northwest Wisconsin to develop diversified agricultural commodity markets. Over 1,000 food buyers were surveyed to determine their willingness to purchase over 130 different food products that could be produced in northwest Wisconsin. Food buyers were surveyed regarding quantities to be purchased, packaging requirements and preferred vendors. The expected results of the project are: identification of diversified markets, expansion of local economy as less consumer dollars are exported from the area, employment retention and expansion with agriculture and agricultural support industries, and less costly, higher quality food for consumers.
