The document is the proceedings of an international symposium hosted by the FBI Laboratory at the Forensic Science Research and Training Center in Quantico, Virginia from June 23-26, 1986. The symposium program included over 40 lectures, poster presentations and panel discussions by prominent scientists representing industry, university and government laboratories in the United States and foreign countries. Topics covered include the immunologic basis for species differentiation, inhibition, elution and mixed agglutination methods, ELISA methodology, interpretation of serologic results, serology reporting procedures and courtroom presentations, quality control of immunology reagents and laboratory safety.
