Minimum Profile for RFC-987: Mapping between Addresses in RFC-822 Format and X.400 Standard Attributes (Re-Announcement of TIB-B89-80684)

The paper describes transformations of mail addresses from X.400-ORName representation into RFC-822 representation and vice versa. Mail systems considered here would belong to one of these two address worlds. The transformations are described by two mappings. Mapping (1) transforms X.400 originated addresses into an RFC-822 representation. Mapping (1)-inverse will retransform X.400 originated addresses from their RFC-822 representation back into their original form. Mapping (2) transforms RFC-822 originated addresses into an X.400 representation. Mapping (2)-inverse will retransform RFC-822 originated addresses from their X.400 representation back into their original form of RFC-822 representation. Mapping (1) and Mapping (2)-inverse, although applied to addresses of different origin, will comply to the same rules. Also Mapping (2) and Mapping (1)-inverse will follow the same rules.
