Robotics Simulation and Testbed, EUROSIM Study on Simulation System Definition. Volume 1. Executive Summary

In the framework of ESA's program for Robotics, Tele-operation and Servicing a powerful simulation tool has to be developed to support the various stages in the development process of systems and operations. Therefore, ESA has initiated the development of a European Robotic Operations Simulator (EUROSIM). The study on EUROSIM, contract II, concerns the definition of requirements, user requirements as well as simulation software requirements. The parallel contract, EUROSIM I, has to take care of the overall definition and planning of the simulator. In volume I of the report the executive summary of the study results is given. Volumes II, III, and IV together form the technical volume.
