The study was designed to explore how women with a previous cesarean section evaluated options for delivery method in a subsequent pregnancy, and what factors were important to them in making the choice between elective repeat cesarean section and trial of labor for vaginal delivery. The objective was to clarify understanding of patient decision making in the context of the rising cesarean section rate in the United States today.
