Prenatal Aspirin and Acetaminophen: 7-Year Follow-up

The study examined the long-term effects of prenatal exposure to aspirin and acetaminophen. Three types of outcomes were examined in 7-year old children: attentional parameters; IQ scores; and height, weight, and head circumference. The analyses addressed the statistical significance and the nature of the relationships in terms of linear vs threshold modeling, and also the role of interactive, intervening, and early marker variables, such as low birthweight, sex of child, and alcohol use, in identifying children experiencing the long-term effects of prenatal exposure to aspirin and acetaminophen.
