The meeting reviewed and discussed the available emission data and public health aspects related to the emission of PCDDs and related compounds during incineration of municipal sewage sludge and municipal solid waste. The meeting provided national and local health authorities with advice on the public health significance of these emissions and pointed out practicable approaches to minimize them.
