Performance and Interpretation of Screw Plate Tests

摘要

The advantages of screw plate testing and desirable features in the design of a screw plate are briefly described. Then suggested procedures for carrying out screw plate tests are presented. Various contributions to error in the interpretation of test results are discussed; in particular, a simple model for prediction of loss of adhesion of the top of the plate is presented. The paper concludes with a discussion of aspects which require experimental investigation.
