Solar Heated LP-Gas (Liquid Petroleum-Gas) Vaporization

The Collector' Solar Heated Propane Vaporizer, Model SPV-067 is a concentrating, isotropic, solar collector utilizing a helical absorber and sand storage medium. Phase change material (Glaubers Salts) were tested and found to be approximately 300% inferior to the sand, with predominant consideration given to latent thermal capacity. These are isolated from the environment by a sealed acrylic dome. Direct and stored solar energy is absorbed via convection and applied to the contained LP-Gas Vapor to the extent of the available insolation. By isolating this vaporization process away from the liquid, consumption caused super-cooling does not immediately effect the super-expandability of the vapor; resulting in an observed annual fuel savings of 67% under an average ambient temperature of 60 degrees F. with an average flow rate of 7.92 quarts per day of commercial propane fuel. 'The Collector' being self contained and weather resistant, requires no maintenance. Included are general directions, componant descriptions, and proposed Safety Standards for safety and installation.
