The User Manual provides assistance in using PDQ ACCESS software. The software allows the user to store information necessary to connect to the National Cancer Institute's Physician Data Query (PDQ) database. It automatically performs the dialing and logging into PDQ, provides help to navigate through the system, captures all or part of the online session to disk, provides back scroll capability and disconnects with a single keystroke. There is a built-in utility to capture a CANCERLIT search from PDQ and automatically run the search on the CANCERLIT database. Offline, the program allows the captured data to be reviewed on the computer screen or printed on a printer. The program works only on the National Library of Medicine's MEDLARS system available by local dialing, TYMNET, or TELENET telecommunications networks.
