The purpose of the manual, The Area Resource File System Description, is to describe the overall capabilities of the Area Resource File System as well as each of the components identified above. To present this material, the manual has been organized as follows: Section 1 provides an overview of the ARFS; Section 2 is a detailed presentation of its data organization and content; and Section 3 describes its products and analytical capabilities, as well as ordering information and an order form for many of its products.
