Firm Size and Innovative Activity: A Further Examination

摘要

The purpose of the study is to compare empirically alternative measures of innovative activity between large and small firms (small firms are defined in the study as firms with less than 500 employees). These firm-specific innovation measures relate to: (1) the acquisition of technical knowledge in the development of new products and production processes; (2) the adoption of new production process technology; and (3) the use of product innovation as a competitive strategy.
