Chacoan Roads in the Southern Periphery: Results of Phase 2 of the BLM (Bureau of Land Management) Chaco Roads Project

摘要

The objectives of the project was to establish the presence or absence of prehistoric Chacoan roads in the Chaco Canyon, New Mexico area, located in the San Juan Basin. Developing inventory, monitoring and verification techniques as well as the evaluation and interpretation of the significance of the Chacoan road system was another important goal of the project. This information will be valuable in assessing the potential significance of the road system and related sites to insure adequate management and protection of prehistoric and cultural resources.
