Test Excavations at 15 Archeological Sites Along the James River in Stutsman and LaMoure Counties, North Dakota

The report presents the results of 1986 archeological test excavations conducted in the Southern Section of the Garrison Diversion Unit in southeastern North Dakota. Fifteen sites with prehistoric and historic components along the James River in Stutsman and LaMoure counties. The sites are situated in James River valley flood plain, alluvial fan, foot slope, and late Holocene terrace areas. All 15 sites are evaluated as eligible for listing in the National Register. These are significant and irreplaceable cultural resources.
