Pacific Futures Conference: Entrepreneurs and Private Sector Development in the American Pacific Flag Islands, Held at Honolulu, Hawaii on August 19-20, 1986

On August 19-20, 1986, approximately 100 individuals attended the Pacific Futures Conference in Honolulu. Among the general goals of the conference were to discuss the potential growth opportunities for indigenous entrepreneurs in the American Flag Islands and to give the Pacific Island people an opportunity to develop a strategy for achieving economic self-sufficiency. The report includes the conference agenda and presents a general discussion of private sector development in American Pacific Flag Islands. An appendix listing the conference participants, their business affiliations, and addresses is included, which may be useful to individuals and organizations seeking additional information on private sector development in this geographic area.
