The software described in the specification was developed for the Federal Highway Administration, Office of Implementation, Safety and Traffic Implementation Division, under Contract No. DOT-FH-11-9294. The contract provides application software for computer-based traffic control systems. The software is organized by functional module to meet the requirements of specific traffic control needs. Its functional organization and hierarchical structure enable future expansion or modification by inserting or modifying specific functional modules at the appropriate hierarchical level. The document presents all hierarchical charts and diagrams for the enhanced traffic control software. Section 2 summarizes the functions in the software system, and section 3 contains the structure charts and detailed hierarchical input process output (HIPO) diagrams.
