Computation of River Flow and Bed-Load Transport

摘要

The report summarizes the conclusions reached following a joint research project by the International Water Resources Institute of George Washington University, Washington, DC, and the Institute for Hydraulics of the Research Centre for Water Resources /VITUKI/, Budapest. Initially, the Project investigated ways to replace the conventional flow equations by the Dressler's shallow water equations in order to overcome various difficulties. Later, efforts were directed toward developing a method to calculate river bed changes /aggradations and degradations/by using the coupled flow and Stelczer's bed-load equations in a computer algorithm. The verification and application of the developed method were performed by using the observed data for the Danube and Raba Rivers in Hungary.
