Effectiveness of Income Support Programs: An Empirical Review

摘要

The paper reviews the findings of a variety of studies on income support programs, focusing on cash benefits, in-kind assistance, and childsupport enforcement. Of particular interest is the effectiveness of the programs in reducing poverty, in meeting the financial and health needs of beneficiaries, in focusing resources on people most in need, and in providing an incentive to work.
