Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) Measurement of Multiphase during Air Ingress: We will measure the temperature distribution and concentration profile of the two species will be investigated using state-of-the-art particle image velocimetry (PIV) and laser induced fluorescence (LIF) techniques. Experiments will be performed in a specially designed small test facility that will allow us to measure the velocity and temperature during stratifications and inflow/outflow behavior through the broken duct. Hot-wire anemometers will also be inserted into the duct and the tanks to obtain local velocity values. These experiments will provide new full-field data of temperature, concentration and velocity components with a high degree of spatial and temporal resolution.
