Effects of Radiation Damage in Optical Fibers: A Tutorial

摘要

The report discusses the physics and some measured results of the effects of radiation damage in optical fibers. Examples are illustrated and discussed. The kinds and amounts of radiation are analyzed with regard to their relation to the capacity of single-mode and multi-mode optical fibers.
