'Conducted by Louis Harris & Associates between October 30 and November 17, 1986, among a national probability sample of 1,273 American adults, this survey gathered information about public knowledge and opinion on science and technology issues in general, and genetic engineering and biotechnology in particular. This background paper presents the data obtained from that survey.'
