Testing of Low-Solvent, Air Dried, Force Dried and Baked Coatings for Miscellaneous Metal Parts and Products

In the report, currently available organic coatings and a representative sampling of emerging technologies are evaluated and compared with traditionally acceptable coatings in special use categories. New and developing polymer systems such as water based dispersions and emulsions, low solvent solution resins, single and two component or catalysed urethane isocyanate - acrylate and the like are evaluated as air dry (ambient temperature) curable or epoxy-amine force dry (194 F) coating. High temperature baked coatings, which cure at temperatures greater than 194 F are also included in the work. The 'State of the Technology' of polymer and additive development and formulation of Low Solvent and Water Borne coatings is explored.
