摘要

Oxidative phosphorylation is the main process that supplies energy to (eukaryotic) cells. In this process electrons are transferred from NADH (a.o.) to oxygen by several membrane-bound multi-subunit enzymes together called the respiratory chain with the concomitant synthesis of ATP. These enzymes are all located in the inner mitochondrial membrane. The 'first' member of the chain is NADH:Q oxidoreductase, which enzyme is the center of interest in the thesis.
