Cultural Resources Reconnaissance of Four Proposed Project Areas in the Muscatatuck National Wildlife Refuge, Seymour, Indiana

A field reconnaissance for cultural resources was conducted in four areas where modifications have been proposed in the Muscatatuck National Wildlife Refuge. Numerous potentially significant cultural resources sites are known to occur in the region, particularly along the margins of lowlands. One site (12 J 160) in the area of proposed modifications may be a potentially significant cultural resource and should be protected from negative impacts. A Phase II test investigation is recommended if the site cannot be avoided during modifications.
