Babar: An Electronic Mail Database

摘要

The Babar electronic mail system was designed to help users store, organize and access individual messages in a large database of electronic mail. The first part of the report is a paper which discusses the design, implementation and use of the Babar system, and compares it to earlier electronic mail interfaces developed at the Xerox Palo Alto Research Center. The paper reviews the features and use of some earlier mail systems and presents detailed statistics about the structure and use of typical Babar databases.
