The basic purposes of the BACT/LAER Clearinghouse are to: (1) provide State and local air pollution control agencies with current information on case-by-case control technology determinations that are made nationwide; and (2) promote communication, cooperation, and sharing of control technology information among the permitting agencies. The information presented in the compilation was abstracted from preconstruction permits and submitted voluntarily by the State and local air pollution control agencies. The Clearinghouse is intended as a reference for State and local agencies in making BACT/LAER decisions. The report is a supplement to previous Clearinghouse compilations issued in May 1982, April 1983, May 1984, May 1985, May 1986, and May 1987.
