The report is a continuation in a series of studies commissioned by the Florida Department of Transportation to better understand the lateral distribution of wheel loads in highway bridges. Research documented in the report investigates the continuous bridge structure--the Eau Gallie Bridge over Indian River--which consists of pretensioned bulb-tee girders that were posttensioned to form four-span continuous units. A finite element model was generated using the BRUFEM program (a Fortran program that can be solved by STRUDL) to study the bridge. The BRUFEM program is also applicable to bridge types other than prestressed bulb-tee bridges; models of prestressed AASHTO girder and steel girder bridges are given in an appendix.
