Operation and Effect of the Domestic International Sales Corporation Legislation: July 1, 1981 to June 30, 1983

This is the eleventh report in the Department of the Treasury's series of reports on the operation and effect of the Domestic International Sales Corporation (DISC) legislation. DISCs are a special class of corporations which are eligible for the deferral of federal income tax on a portion of export profits. The report covers the tenth and eleventh full years of DISC operations. It presents statistical estimates derived from a sample of Form 1120-DISC tax returns filed for accounting periods ending between July 1, 1981 and June 30, 1983. The first year of this period is referred to as DISC year 1982 and the second as DISC year 1983. The sampling procedure is described.
