The United States offers, under its Generalized System of Preferences (GSP), preferential duty-free entry to approximately 4100 products from 136 designated beneficiary countries and territories. The booklet is published as a practical guide to the U.S. GSP system. It outlines the requirements for importing articles duty-free under the program and for modifying the list of articles and countries eligible for duty-free treatment. It also provides comprehensive listings of all eligible beneficiaries and articles as of September 1, 1988. It provides both the current Tariff Schedules of the United States (TSUS) and the Harmonized System (HS) tariff nomenclature.
