Leonardian Fluid Mechanics: What Remains to Be Investigated in the Codex Hammer. A Critical Study and a Challenge

This contribution contains the results of a study of the Codex Hammer carried out for an invited lecture at the Kansas Spencer Museum of Art on the occasion of a show of the Codex Hammer, but the basic study of this codex was done as a part of a project on Leonardian Fluid Mechanics sponsored jointly by the National Science Foundation and the National Endowment for the Humanities.
