Long-Term Impacts of Pesticide Registrations: Three Cases

The report examines the changes in cultural practices following cancellation of pesticides registrations under FIFRA. The pesticides and former use sites in the study are DBCP as a post-emergent herbicide on California cole crops, and 2,4,5-T for conifer release in the Northwest and the Southwest. Since the cancellation of pesticides registrations under FIFRA, new developments have alleviated the projected impacts of the regulatory actions. The report concludes with a brief discussion of the factors contributing to the new developments.
