U.S. Rice Exports (1977-1987)

The United States and Thailand's share of the world rice export market has grown from 40 percent in 1977 to 55 percent in 1987. During the 1980-85 period, high U.S. rice prices encouraged increased production and expanded export availabilities in Thailand.
