摘要

The research objective was the development of a small electromagnetic (EM) conductivity meter for field use by geophysical prospectors. Of critical importance was the design of a sensor capable of converting sample conductivities into measurable output for processing by microprocessor-controlled electronics. Research efforts determined the best sensor design, frequency range, and speed of measurement consistent with operational demands. Natural and artificial samples covering the range of EM conductivities of interest were collected for calibration. Research results during the feasibility phase yielded all of the parameters necessary for the development of a pre-production model.
