Controlled Study of Prematurity Prevention: Efficacy and Costs

摘要

The purpose of the randomized controlled study was to: assess the impact of a preterm birth prevention program applied in a sample of black inner-city women in Philadelphia; evaluate the efficacy of the risk screening tool as designed and attempt to improve its discriminatory power by addition of other risk factors; and determine the cost implications of such a program by evaluating both maternal and neonatal hospital charges.
