High-Speed and High-Resolution Analog-to-Digital and Digital-to-Analog Converters

In the introduction an overview of the contents of the thesis will be given. Analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog converters provide the link between the analog world of transducers and the digital world of signal processing, computing and other digital data collection or data processing systems. Numerous types of converters have been designed which use the best technology available at the time a design is made. In the thesis different techniques to improve the accuracy in high-resolution A/D and D/A converters will be discussed. Also, a special technique to reduce the number of elements in high-speed A/D converters by a repetitive use of comparators will be described.
