摘要

The thesis deals with some physiological and biochemical aspects of the genus Desulfovibrio, the longest known and best characterized among the sulfate-reducing bacteria. The work described mainly focused on the role of NAD and NADP as electron carriers in the energy metabolism of Desulfovibrio. Until 1986, pyridine nucleotides, which play such a central role in anabolism as well as catabolism of heterotrophic aerobes, were considered not to be involved in dissimilatory processes in Desulfovibrio. The dissimilatory pathways of substrates in which NAD(P)H-producing reaction possibly are involved were investigated and the possible mechanisms of electron transfer from NAD(P)H to the sulfate reduction process were studied.
